Backup & Restore

Keep your flashcards and progress safe by creating regular backups.

Why Create Backups?

• Protect your data: Never lose your flashcards or progress
• Transfer to a new device: Move your data when you upgrade phones
• Reset the app: Useful if you forgot your PIN or need a fresh start

Creating a Backup

1. Open UnlockToLearn
2. Go to Settings (gear icon)
3. Tap Backup & Restore
4. Tap Create Backup
5. Choose where to save the file (e.g., Google Drive, Files app, or device storage)
6. Wait for the backup to complete

Tip: Save your backup to cloud storage like Google Drive or iCloud for extra safety.

What’s Included in a Backup?

• All your folders and decks
• All flashcards with their content
• Learning progress and statistics
• App settings

Note: PIN codes are NOT included in backups for security reasons.

Restoring from a Backup

1. Open UnlockToLearn
2. Go to Settings (gear icon)
3. Tap Backup & Restore
4. Tap Restore Backup
5. Select your backup file
6. Wait for the restore to complete

Warning: Restoring a backup will replace all current data in the app.

Forgot Your PIN?

If you’re locked out due to a forgotten PIN:

1. Create a backup before reinstalling (you can still create backups without the PIN)
2. Uninstall and reinstall the app
3. Restore your data from the backup
4. Set a new PIN you’ll remember
